Description | I am Canadian Vice President of the Niagara Frontier Region of the NMRA. Part of my responsibilities is membership recruitment and to fullfill this responsibility, we attend approx. a dozen weekend train shows throughout southern Ontario to promote model railroading and the NMRA. We accomplish this by setting up what we call the 'Modeler's Corner' where members demonstrate different aspects of the hobby. The number of members participating depends on the size of the show. There are usually about 6 members at the local shows with up to 20 - 25 at the two large Toronto shows. At the Toronto shows we also present live clinics. Although these are well received by the more advanced modelers, we feel that the program that the World's Greatest Hobby campaign is presenting may help us to reach out to the new and not so experienced modeler in a way that may be more encouraging to them.
