Description | Our club began in 1938 and has always been located in the same building. In 1994, we purchased the 1910 passenger station from our host railroad to save the building from destruction. In 2000, we became a 501(c)(3) organization to help in acquiring funds for the maintenance of the station. In the past we have sponsored a national NMRA convention (1970), three National O-Scale conventions (1977, 1997, 2005) and participated in scores of local train shows. We operate for the public on the first Tuesday of the month from 7-8:30 PM with extra Tuesday and Saturday shows in December. Check our web, GroupIO or Facebook pages for exact dates and times. Admission is free, but we ask for donations to help pay for maintaining the building and layout. Many of our past members have served as officers in the NMRA and in its Mid-Continent Region and others have won various awards for their models. Many of our members are also members of many other clubs and museums. We have a web page at www.bigbendrrclub.org, GroupIO page as well as a popular Facebook page.
